A specialist aerospace engineering organisation is seeking a Contract Electrical Design Engineer to support aircraft modification and certification programmes.

Role Overview

You will support the design and integration of aircraft electrical systems across a range of modification projects, producing electrical design documentation for installation and certification activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and harness documentation
  • Electrical systems integration for aircraft modification programmes
  • Preparation of EWIS and installation documentation
  • Support electrical load analysis and interface definition activities
  • Liaise with certification, stress, production and installation teams
  • Support design changes, configuration control and compliance activities
  • Assist with troubleshooting and production/build support where required

Requirements

  • Experience in electrical design within aerospace, defence, rail or other safety-critical industries
  • Strong wiring schematic and harness design experience
  • Experience with tools such as Zuken E3, AutoCAD Electrical or similar
  • Understanding of aircraft electrical integration principles
  • Familiarity with configuration control and engineering change processes
  • Aerospace or Part 21 environment experience beneficial

Contract Details

  • 6 month initial contract with likely extension
  • Competitive hourly rate up to £70 per hour
  • Based in East Midlands
