We are looking for an organised and proactive Planner / Transport Coordinator to join our team at Mon Timber Engineering in Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone motivated to ensure efficient operations, excellent customer service, and smooth coordination of deliveries, stock, and transport.
Working closely with the Branch Manager and internal teams, you will focus on planning site call-offs, coordinating transport, and managing goods inwards to support production and maximise efficiency.
What you will be doing…
- Act as a primary point of contact for customer sites regarding truss and joist deliveries.
- Schedule deliveries in line with production capacity and maintain accurate records on the T-card planner.
- Liaise with sites to confirm delivery dates and communicate any issues to relevant team members.
- Manage customer, designer and factory expectations, particularly for short lead-time call-offs.
- Monitor production progress and escalate any issues to management.
- Provide delivery schedules to buyers if required.
- Produce KPI reports on production output, turnover, etc.
- Assist with optimising joists and trusses prior to production.
- Ensure HGV compliance, including MOTs, servicing, tachographs, repairs and maintenance.
- Manage incoming HGV deliveries to maintain yard efficiency and safety.
- Coordinate with the Yard Supervisor on vehicle arrivals and yard capacity.
- Reschedule supplier deliveries where necessary.
- Control the number and timing of LGV arrivals to ensure safe yard operations.
