About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Online Technician to join the engineering team at our Worksop manufacturing site. As an Online Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our manufacturing operations by providing effective engineering and technical support, ensuring maximum equipment availability and optimal line performance. Working in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment, you will carry out both reactive and preventative maintenance activities while driving continuous improvement across the site. You will be responsible for minimising downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting production teams to achieve operational targets safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of manufacturing equipment.
- Efficiently fault find, diagnose, and repair electrical and mechanical issues.
- Support manufacturing operations to maximise equipment utilisation and minimise downtime.
- Carry out assigned and self-directed engineering tasks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance machine performance and reliability.
- Support and optimise automated machinery, including PLC, SCADA, and HMI-controlled systems.
- Complete risk assessments and safe systems of work.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards.
About You
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Time-served engineering apprenticeship.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Sound understanding of Health & Safety practices.
Desirable
- Experience working within a multi-skilled engineering environment.
- Knowledge of PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial control systems.
- Food manufacturing or FMCG experience.
- Experience of continuous improvement techniques.
- IOSH Working Safely qualification.
- 17th or 18th Edition qualification.
