Hours: 8am - 4pm (40 hours per week average)

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday

We are looking for a motivated Engineering Team Manager to lead our Manufacturing Centre Engineering Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader with strong people management skills, a passion for continuous improvement, and a proven background in engineering and maintenance within a manufacturing environment. Working closely with the Site Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in driving operational performance, maintaining high safety and quality standards, and developing a high-performing engineering team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day engineering function across the manufacturing site
  • Ensure all planned and reactive maintenance activities are completed effectively and on time
  • Promote and maintain a strong health, safety, and environmental culture
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and performance improvement plans
  • Coordinate SAP planned maintenance activities and support asset reliability improvements
  • Lead engineering teams through breakdowns and operational challenges
  • Coach, mentor, and develop engineers, apprentices, and technicians
  • Support recruitment, training, and succession planning activities
  • Work cross-functionally with operational teams to maximise plant performance and efficiency
  • Deliver engineering KPIs and contribute to site-wide strategic objectives

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous engineering management experience within manufacturing, ideally food manufacturing
  • Strong leadership and people management capability
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement and progressive maintenance techniques
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple departments
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and legal compliance requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • IOSH/NEBOSH and Food Hygiene qualifications
  • HACCP Level 2
  • Multi-skilled engineering background (Electrical & Mechanical)
  • Experience in continuous production environments
  • Permit-to-work management experience
  • Proven track record delivering engineering projects and performance improvements
