We're looking for a talented Controls Systems Engineer to join our Engineering team at Worksop and become the technical authority for our control systems landscape.

This is a fantastic opportunity to influence major capital projects, modernise automation systems and play a key role in the future of manufacturing.

The Role As Controls Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for the strategy, specification and governance of PLC, SCADA and MES systems across the site.

You'll ensure control systems are standardised, compliant, secure and aligned with operational and safety requirements, whilst supporting continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives.

Working across Engineering, Operations and Project teams, you'll provide technical leadership on automation projects, system upgrades and day-to-day operational support.

What You'll Be Doing Developing and maintaining control system standards, specifications and architectures.

Acting as the technical lead for controls on capital investment and improvement projects.

Reviewing and approving Functional Design Specifications (FDS), ensuring all solutions meet operational, safety and compliance requirements.

Leading system validation, commissioning, testing and implementation activities.

Managing control system upgrades, lifecycle planning and obsolescence programmes.

Providing governance and technical assurance for contractors and system integrators.

Driving root cause investigations and delivering sustainable improvements.

Supporting Smart Factory initiatives, digitalisation projects and emerging technologies.

Developing engineering capability through coaching, technical guidance and training About You You'll be a hands-on automation professional with a passion for improving manufacturing performance through technology Strong experience with PLC-based control systems, such as Siemens or Rockwell.

Experience working with SCADA systems within a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of MES integration and industrial automation.

Experience operating within FMCG, food manufacturing or another regulated process industry.

Experience providing technical assurance and reviewing contractor deliverables.
