As our next Hygiene Front Line Leader, you will proactively play a key role in maintaining and improving hygiene standards across our site. A core responsibility of the role is the development and management of CICs, updating SOPs and ensuring full compliance with Hygiene and EHS standards. You will support the wider site hygiene programme by identifying opportunities for improvement and helping to drive a culture of continuous improvement in hygiene standards and processes. This includes contributing to the development and delivery of short and medium-term hygiene strategies.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead and promote high standards of safety, hygiene, food safety and quality, acting as a visible role model at all times.
- Develop, review, and maintain Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs), SOPs, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
- Lead and deliver specialist cleaning activities, ensuring GMP, site standards, and cleaning schedules are consistently met.
- Manage and develop a focused hygiene team, providing on-the-job coaching, training, and regular one-to-ones.
- Ensure all cleaning activities are completed, signed off, and accurately recorded for audit and due diligence purposes.
- Support training and upskilling across specialist cleaning, SOPs, and CICs, building a flexible and multi-skilled team.
- Drive continuous improvement in hygiene, GMP, food safety, and environmental performance, aligned to hygiene KPIs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (Production, Engineering, Logistics, and Quality) to address hygiene and GMP risks.
- Contribute to safety, quality, and hygiene audits, ensuring corrective actions are identified and closed out.
What we need from you:
- A good understanding of HACCP, Food Safety and Quality Assurance, including Auditing.
- Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate.
- Proficient use of IT skills, spreadsheets and data analysis.
- Experience of modern manufacturing practices.
- Ability to create a high performing team culture.
