Premier Foods Stoke, the home of the nations favourite Mr Kipling Cherry Bakewells, has an exciting opportunity for a Front Line Manager to join our team. In this role you will ensure optimum utilisation of plant, raw materials, and people, to produce quality product at minimum cost, which meets customer requirements and complies with legislation.
We are looking to recruit a Reliability Engineering Chargehand to provide support to the Reliability Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will be improving the sites OEE through a continuous improvement and PPM, process analysis and plant improvement.
What you'll be doing:
- To ensure departmental KPIs are achieved or exceeded.
- Attend appropriate meetings as required i.e. Production daily meetings.
- To maintain and support colleagues in upkeep of necessary documents such as SAP and CMMS.
- To engender a proactive continuous improvement and maintenance culture which has 'planned and preventative' as a central feature.
- Issue and monitor permits when needed for in-house contractors.
- Challenge non-compliance to health and safety and raise concerns when necessary.
- Understand and apply the company quality standards and practices.
- Provide engineering services with the aim to exceed customer satisfaction.
- Support the development of Engineering Apprentices, engineering teams and other departments for the continued development of colleagues.
What we need from you:
Essential:
- At least 5 years' experience in food or allied industry.
- Demonstrable experience of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Have a strong work proactive ethos and demonstrate this through positive behaviour.
- Have strong leadership ability with a motivation to inspire team members and peers.
- Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Level 3 or higher standard of education in Electrical or Mechanical.
Desirable:
- Experience/Training in PLC maintenance.
- Experience of pneumatic maintenance.
- Experience of hydraulic maintenance.
