Location: Worksop, S81 7AY (with regular travel to Barnsley, S81 3HF)Hours: 22.5 hours per week (3 days)Salary: Circa £29,000 per annum (pro-rated from £48,000 FTE)Contract Type: Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and compassionate Occupational Health Advisor to join our team and lead the delivery of a high-quality, evidence-based occupational health service. You will play a pivotal role in protecting, promoting, and enhancing the health and wellbeing of our employees, working in close partnership with HR and Operational teams.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and lead the site wellbeing programme, influence strategic health initiatives, and make a real difference to our people and culture.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and manage the Occupational Health Technician, ensuring effective delivery of:
    • Pre-employment health screening
    • Routine and return-to-work health surveillance
    • Agency worker assessments (where applicable)
  • Provide expert medical advice on employee capability and fitness for work through the management referral process.
  • Facilitate referrals to company-funded physiotherapy and Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP).
  • Collaborate with HR and Operations to proactively manage long-term absence and support rehabilitation.
  • Deliver monthly reporting on absence trends and health surveillance to site and head office.
  • Design and implement health promotion campaigns aligned with the site and group wellbeing strategy.
  • Attend Occupational Health team meetings (some travel to other sites will be required).
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with colleagues at all levels, as well as external medical professionals and service providers.
  • Provide advice on complex cases to support employees’ return to work and sustained recovery.

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with Occupational Health experience in a commercial setting.
  • Car driver with own vehicle, as you will be required to split your 3 days per week between Worksop and Barnsley
  • Strong clinical competence in diagnosis, treatment, and first aid.
  • Experience in health promotion – from planning to evaluation.
  • Skilled in health assessments, including pre-employment, post-sickness, and rehabilitation.
  • Confident in data collection, analysis, and trend reporting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
