Based in Carlton, Barnsley (hybrid - 3 days a week on site) on a 6-month fixed term contract with a salary circa £50,000 per annum + benefits.

We're looking for a commercially minded Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Carlton, supporting a number of exciting capital investment projects across our Sweet Treats division. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders and play a key role in driving project success through robust financial control and reporting.

What you'll be doing:

  • Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll partner with project teams across our sites in Carlton, Stoke and Moreton, providing financial insight and governance across major capital expenditure projects.
  • Maintaining accurate records of project expenditure, including labour, materials and direct costs.
  • Partnering with Project Managers to track project timelines, costs and deliverables.
  • Supporting month-end processes, accruals, reconciliations and GRNI activities.
  • Producing monthly project spend reports, forecasts and variance analysis.
  • Identifying financial risks and opportunities across project portfolios.
  • Supporting business cases and cost-benefit analysis to aid investment decisions.
  • Monitoring project forecasts and highlighting potential cost overruns.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls and capital governance processes.
  • Working closely with Procurement, Legal and Engineering teams to ensure robust financial oversight.

What we're looking for:

  • An accounting qualification (or be Qualified by Experience).
  • Previous Management Accounting or Cost Accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capability.
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong attention to detail.
