At Premier Foods, home to iconic brands including Ambrosia, Mr Kipling, Bisto and Batchelors, we're looking for a Project Engineer to join our Engineering team at the Ambrosia Creamery in Lifton, Devon. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of site investment projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and engineering excellence programmes across one of our key manufacturing sites.

The Role

Working closely with the Project Manager and wider Engineering team, you'll help deliver CAPEX projects, drive continuous improvement activity, and support the development of a safe, high-performing manufacturing environment. You'll be involved from project conception through to implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the delivery of site CAPEX and engineering improvement projects
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities to improve OEE, reduce waste and improve energy performance
  • Working with engineering, production and CI teams to deliver site priorities
  • Managing supplier and contractor relationships throughout project delivery
  • Supporting site shutdown planning and project execution
  • Championing safety, quality and engineering best practice
  • Ensuring successful project handovers into operations and maintenance teams
  • Supporting audits and maintaining an audit‑ready environment

What We’re Looking For

  • Engineering qualification (minimum Level 3)
  • Experience within a food, FMCG or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of modern manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities
  • CAD and Microsoft Project experience would be advantageous but not essential
