As our Energy Project Manager, based at our dry powder food factory in Kent, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, leading, and delivering energy-focused capital projects that support our strategic sustainability goals. Sitting within the Capital Investment team, you will act as the site's energy lead, driving improvements through structured project execution while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities for energy and carbon reduction, developing robust business cases and project plans to deliver measurable improvements.
- Ensure compliance with energy and carbon legislation, as well as Premier Foods' internal standards and reporting requirements.
- Lead and manage energy-related capital investment projects from feasibility through to completion, ensuring alignment with site priorities and strategic targets for 2030 and 2040.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and external partners to scope, plan, and deliver energy initiatives.
- Develop and implement site-wide energy strategies and policies, including behavioural change programs to embed energy-conscious practices.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on energy usage and costs (e.g. natural gas, electricity, water), leveraging our Smart Factory systems to drive data-led decisions.
- Champion energy awareness and sustainability culture across the site through training, engagement, and communication.
- Lead energy and sustainability audits, ensuring continuous improvement and readiness for external assessments.
What We Are Looking For:
- Degree or equivalent in Energy Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Strong technical knowledge of the energy industry, including emerging technologies and sustainability trends.
- Proven experience in project management, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels, driving change and delivering results.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role with a track record of delivering energy improvements.
