The Opportunity
- We're looking for a confident, credible Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) leader to take ownership of safety, wellbeing and environmental performance at a complex manufacturing site.
- Setting and delivering the site HSE strategy in line with Group, sector and regulatory requirements.
- Leading cultural and behavioural change to embed a proactive, positive safety culture.
- Ensuring full compliance with UK health, safety and environmental legislation and site permits.
- Maintaining and continuously improving Safety & Environmental Management Systems.
- Providing expert HSE advice and support to leaders, employees and contractors.
- Leading incident investigations, root cause analysis and preventative action planning.
- Monitoring, analysing and reporting HSE performance, trends and KPIs to site leadership.
- Leading engagement initiatives, including safety and environmental campaigns.
- Managing preparation for, and participation in, external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Acting as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies, including the Environment Agency.
- Supporting safe design, operational change and capital projects with strong HSE input.
About you
- You're a pragmatic, visible HSE leader who can influence at all levels and balance operational delivery with regulatory and compliance demands.
- Proven experience in a senior HSE role within a regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
