Role Purpose:
Are you passionate about food and fascinated by what makes consumers tick? Join our Sensory and Product Analytics team and help shape the future of some of the UK\’s best-loved brands including Sharwoods, Mr Kipling, Batchelors, Oxo and Ambrosia. As a Consumer Research Technologist, you\’ll lead consumer research projects that drive product quality, maximise consumer liking, and protect brand loyalty.
What you\’ll be doing:
- Lead consumer research for Cooking Sauces and Accompaniments, focusing on Sharwoods, Loyd Grossman, The Spice Tailor and Homepride.
- Deliver sensory panel testing and analyse online reviews and consumer data across multiple sources.
- Collaborate with NPD, Marketing and Insights teams to plan and execute Central Location Testing and Home Use Testing.
- Manage relationships with research agencies, briefing projects and attending fieldwork.
- Run end-to-end research projects—from sourcing samples and recruiting respondents to statistical analysis and stakeholder presentations.
- Champion best practices, health and safety, and continuous improvement within the Premier Sensory Group.
- Own your development by identifying training needs and building a plan with your manager.
A passion for food and a strong understanding of sensory and consumer research.
- Minimum 12 months\’ experience in sensory or consumer research (placement experience counts).
- Knowledge of Sensory Science & Evaluation Methodologies.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Highly numerate with excellent data visualisation and storytelling abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Organised, deadline-driven, and a natural problem solver.
- Enthusiastic to learn and grow.
Desirable:
- BSc in Food Science, Technology, Marketing or related field.
- Completion of a professional sensory course.
- Experience with XLstat, RedJade or similar sensory software.
