Consumer Research Technologist (Cooking Sauces)
Worksop / Hybrid (On site approx. 3–4 days a week)

Role Purpose:

Are you passionate about food and fascinated by what makes consumers tick? Join our Sensory and Product Analytics team to shape the future of UK’s beloved brands including Sharwoods, Mr Kipling, Batchelors, Oxo, and Ambrosia. As a Consumer Research Technologist, you\’ll lead consumer research projects to enhance product quality, maximize consumer liking, and protect brand loyalty.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead consumer research for Cooking Sauces and Accompaniments, focusing on brands like Sharwoods, Loyd Grossman, The Spice Tailor, and Homepride.
  • Conduct sensory panel testing and analyze online reviews and consumer data from various sources.
  • Collaborate with NPD, Marketing, and Insights teams to plan and execute Central Location Testing and Home Use Testing.
  • Manage relationships with research agencies, including project briefing and fieldwork attendance.
  • Handle end-to-end research projects—from sourcing samples and recruiting respondents to statistical analysis and stakeholder presentations.
  • Promote best practices, health and safety, and continuous improvement within the Premier Sensory Group.
  • Identify training needs and develop a personal development plan with your manager.

What we need from you:

  • A passion for food with a strong understanding of sensory and consumer research.
  • Minimum 12 months’ experience in sensory or consumer research (placement experience included).
  • Knowledge of Sensory Science & Evaluation Methodologies.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly numerate with excellent data visualization and storytelling skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Organized, deadline-driven, and a natural problem solver.
  • Enthusiastic about learning and growth.
  • BSc in Food Science, Technology, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Completion of a professional sensory course.
  • Experience with sensory software such as XLstat, RedJade, or similar.
