Role purpose

As a Category Executive, you'll be at the heart of driving category growth and commercial success for Premier Foods across a portfolio of key customers. Working closely with customer-facing teams and internal stakeholders, you'll turn shopper, market and category insights into compelling growth opportunities. You'll use data, trends and commercial thinking to influence decision-making, shape winning category strategies, and help deliver standout performance for both Premier Foods and our customers. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys combining analysis with action—partnering with teams across the business, uncovering opportunities, and making a real impact on category growth and customer success. This is a commercially focused Category Growth role, centred on insight, influence and customer partnership—rather than procurement activities.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting range reviews, helping protect core business and drive NPD opportunities
  • Building strong relationships with buyers and merchandisers to support category decision-making
  • Bringing the voice of the retailer into internal strategy discussions
  • Delivering insight-led recommendations to support sales and account teams
  • Analysing category and customer performance using data sources such as Kantar and IRI
  • Tracking distribution, shelf space and availability to identify growth opportunities
  • Creating clear, concise reports and presentations using retailer tools (e.g. IRI HIVE)
  • Supporting key seasonal events (e.g. Christmas, Easter) through analysis and evaluation
  • Balancing priorities across immediate customer needs and longer-term strategy

What we need from you

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, analytical and commercially curious:

  • A proactive, enthusiastic mindset with a passion for driving growth
  • Strong analytical skills and confidence working with data (Excel essential)
  • Ability to turn insight into clear, compelling storytelling
  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of business impact
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • A collaborative team player who builds strong relationships across teams

What we offer in return

  • Competitive salary
  • Bonus
  • Holiday Purchase Scheme
  • Sharesave Scheme
  • EV Car Scheme
  • Private Medical
  • Up to 7.5% pension
  • Life assurance
  • Wide range of online and in-house training
  • Access to an employee discount scheme, with access to hundreds of nationwide retailers
