About The Role: As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you will play a key part in the day‑to‑day operations of our Finance team. Your primary responsibility will be managing purchase invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring all financial data is processed within required deadlines. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve invoice queries, maintain up‑to‑date records, and support the smooth running of our accounts payable function. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, detail‑focused, and confident working in a fast‑paced environment where accuracy and timely delivery are essential.
Work Location: Bicester
As an Accounts Payable Assistant your key responsibilities will be:
- Posting of high volume of purchase invoices onto the accounting systems;
- Ensuring all purchase invoices are matched to a purchase order / goods received note;
- Reconciling supplier statements;
- Deal with phone and email queries from suppliers and colleagues;
- Direct Debits accounts reconciliation;
- Other ad‑hoc tasks where required.
What We Are Looking For:
- 1–2 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable or similar finance role
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with Sage X3 and/or Procure Wizard (preferred but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and numeracy skills
- Able to work well under pressure and manage high volumes of invoices
- Comfortable meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Hardworking, committed, and proactive with strong problem‑solving skills
- Positive, resilient attitude with a genuine can‑do approach
- A supportive team player who collaborates well with others
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
