Role Description

This is a full-time, Field Business Development Manager role based in Hampshire. The Business Development Manager will identify and pursue new business opportunities with restaurants, pubs, hotels, schools, and event caterers, while strengthening relationships with existing customers. Responsibilities include managing a sales pipeline, conducting client visits, preparing proposals and quotes, and negotiating pricing and service agreements. The role also involves monitoring local market trends, collaborating with operations and logistics teams to ensure service quality, and providing regular sales forecasts and performance reports. The Business Development Manager will represent Premier Fish at local industry events and act as a key brand ambassador in the region.

Desirable Candidate

  • Proven experience in business development, field sales, or account management, ideally within foodservice, hospitality, or FMCG.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable with prospecting, lead generation, and managing a structured sales pipeline.
  • Ability to understand product specifications and translate customer requirements into tailored solutions.
  • Good commercial awareness and the ability to analyze sales data and market information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confident in-person presentation abilities.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently to meet targets and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with basic CRM tools, email, and spreadsheet software for tracking activity and reporting.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally for customer meetings and site visits.
  • Experience in seafood, fresh produce, or hospitality supply is an advantage but not essential.
  • Relevant education or training in business, sales, or a related field is beneficial.
