Premier Equipment is a full-service John Deere dealership specializing in agriculture, lawn and commercial grounds care and compact construction equipment. With heritage dating back to the 1950\’s, our organization has grown through the decades bringing to life John Deere\’s commitment to customers of quality and innovation.

Premier proudly serves Southern Ontario with 11 locations (Alliston, Ayr, Elmira, Listowel, Ospringe, Tavistock, Smithville, Stouffville, Hagersville, Belleville and Norwich), offering a robust parts inventory and over 90 technicians able to provide service and maintenance.

• Oversee daily operations of the service department.

• Work with the store management team to develop and follow an annual service budget and plan to provide realistic, attainable and measurable service profit goals and operational objectives.

• Participate in the development and execution of the Service marketing plan.

• Resolve customer complaints relative to service with a focus on customer satisfaction and retention.

• Recruit, train, appraise and provide direction to service personnel to support service sales growth and customer service requirements.

• Control and maintain proper paper flow in the Service Department to reflect all service activity necessary to audit and assess the performance of the department and individual employees on a monthly basis.

• Assist in the appraisal of repair work coming into the Service Department.

• Provide a leadership role within the service department while working alongside shop and field technicians to achieve departmental goals and tech efficiency.

• Schedule and assign jobs and work areas to the employees according to their skills and knowledge.

• Ensure that the service department is equipped with the necessary tools and service equipment and that they are maintained in good working order.

Skills and Requirements:

• Over 5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably within a dealership and service-oriented environment.

• Comprehensive understanding of financial principles and profit and loss (P&L) management.

• Highly organized and capable of working in a fast-paced environment, effectively managing pressure and adhering to tight deadlines.\”

• Must exhibit the expertise and proficiency necessary to oversee repair operations both within the workshop and on-site.

• Exhibits a strong customer service orientation and exercises sound judgment in interactions with customers.

• One has the ability to implement initiatives, manage projects, and lead change effectively.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel.

• Mechanical aptitude would be an asset.
