My client is experiencing significant growth within their mechanical engineering team and are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Warwick-based technical team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of innovative product development projects across multiple sectors.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A 1st or Upper 2nd class degree in Engineering from a reputable university, or an equivalent broad-based technical qualification
- Strong product design and development experience within a consultancy or engineering environment
- Experience applying CAE tools and computational techniques to product development projects
- Knowledge of a wide range of manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience with low-volume rapid prototyping and high-volume manufacturing processes such as injection moulding
- A strong track record of delivering successful engineering projects and managing client relationships
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to guide, support, and mentor junior engineers
- Strong organisational and project management skills, including budget and timescale management
- Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative engineering solutions
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a dynamic consultancy environment
- Eligibility to work in the UK and ability to work from the Warwick offices
The Senior Mechanical Engineer role will involve:
- Taking a technical lead role on a wide range of product development projects
- Managing and supporting junior engineering team members
- Working collaboratively with designers, electronics engineers, software engineers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Leading projects from concept development through to product launch
- Managing project budgets, schedules, and commercial aspects
- Liaising with clients and presenting technical solutions
- Designing mechanisms, mathematical models, and prototype solutions
- Building and testing prototypes using workshop and laboratory facilities
- Supporting the creation of novel IP and improving product manufacturability and performance
- Contributing to the development of innovative products across consumer, transport, and medical sectors
