My client works within engineering and they are looking to take on a hands-on Electrical Design Engineer to develop as part of their team.
The Electrical Design Engineer role will ideally have the following attributes:
- Apprenticeship / HNC/ HND / BTEC / City & Guilds / Degree qualification or similar in Electrical Engineering
- Previous experience carrying out electrical design
- Experience working with control panels
- Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, EPlan or SolidWorks Electrical
- Basic understanding of PLC and SCADA software ideally
- Any network knowledge would also be ideal – Profinet, Profibus etc.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities
- Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Full Driving Licence
The Electrical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Working within the existing engineering team
- Producing detailed concept designs
- Electrical schematics CAD design work and PLC wiring diagrams
- Producing panel layouts
- Able to work with technical documentation
- Confident creating parts lists and BOM’s
- Contributing to a range of products
