My client works within engineering and they are looking to take on a Product Support Engineer with an Electronics / Mechatronics bias, on a permanent basis, in the South Oxfordshire area.
The Product Support Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- NVQ/ HNC/ HND/ BTEC/Degree qualified or similar in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
- Have some form of industry experience in a technical role after your studies too - previous experience working in a similar technical engineering, technical sales, technical support or manufacturing environment would be ideal
- Knowledge of inverters, motion controllers, or similar is needed - further training will be provided
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written; to work well over the phone
- Be able to work well individually as well as a team
- Be proficient with using MS Office applications
- CRM systems / SAP knowledge would be an advantage but isn’t essential
- A Full UK Driving Licence would be essential for attending customer sites so flexibility to travel occasionally is needed too
The Product Support Engineer role will involve:
- Providing technical support to customers with regards to company products
- You will be involved pre-sales on the application side of things
- And also after-sales with troubleshooting issues
- Providing timely technical assistance over the phone, email and in person
- Working with the company CRM system
- Working closely with different company departments to help with product improvements
- Always driving continuous improvement
- Delivering technical training sessions when required
