JOB –Product Development Engineer LOCATION – Glasgow TERM- Permanent SALARY – £50,000 – £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience My client designs and manufactures bespoke metal and plastic products for UK and global customers. They are looking for a Product Development Engineer to join their team in Glasgow on a permanent basis. The Product Development Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: BEng or BSc Degree qualified or similar in Product Design/Industrial Design/Mechanical Engineering or similar At least 5 years of experience working in a Product Development / Design Engineering role within a product development environment Innovative, creative and passionate about design and manufacture Proficient using 3D CAD – ideally Fusion 360 software but others may be considered Previous experience delivering projects from concept right through to manufacture Excellent communication skills and organisational skills Previous experience coaching, managing or leading others Strong analysis, FMEA and DFM skills Strong experience with Injection Moulding A good understanding of materials and varied manufacturing processes and principles The Product Development Engineer role will involve: Leading teams focussed on the design and development of new products Managing and maintaining the process with improvements and new initiatives Reviewing, validating and delivering the full product life cycle Overseeing deadlines, budgets and timescales Providing technical expertise BOM management working with the company ERP system Always having an appreciation for CI and Lean Manufacturing Technically liaising with customers for R&D If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible, along with your availability and your salary expectation
