The CAD Technician will ideally have the following attributes:
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience using Revit MEP in a building services consultancy or contractor environment
- Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building services systems
- Proficient in Revit MEP and AutoCAD (Navisworks experience desirable)
- Good knowledge of BIM processes and coordination principles
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Team-focused, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of BIM processes and ISO 19650 standards would be advantageous
- Knowledge of Navisworks, Dynamo, or other related tools would be advantageous
The CAD Technician role will involve:
- Developing and maintaining detailed 2D and 3D models of mechanical and electrical building services using AutoCAD and Revit
- Staying up-to-date with the latest AutoCAD and Revit software developments and applying company standards consistently across all work
- Contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of Revit processes and best practices throughout the business
- Coordinating design work with other disciplines through regular collaboration and face-to-face meetings, ensuring accuracy and integration across all project elements
- Managing the flow of design information for assigned projects, ensuring timely and accurate communication both internally and externally
- Delivering high-quality work within agreed deadlines, maintaining attention to detail and adherence to project requirements
- Supporting engineers in producing high-quality 3D models and coordinated drawings using Revit MEP and AutoCAD
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary design team on projects from early design stages through to completion, helping to deliver accurate and efficient BIM outputs to support project delivery
