TERM - Permanent

SALARY - £25,000 - £35,000 per annum, dependent on experience

My client designs and manufactures bespoke products for a number of industries. They are looking to take on a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Farnborough on a permanent basis. The role will involve a mix of CAD and hands-on engineering in the workshop.

The Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Eager to work in a hands-on and varied Engineering role
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, plastics, injection moulding, machining etc
  • Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks etc.
  • Interested in building high precision electromechanical products
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient using MS Office
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
  • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
  • A background in Manufacture would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • Team player
  • Eager to train and develop their career in Engineering/Manufacture

The Mechanical Engineer role will involve:

  • Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings
  • Producing fabrication drawings to bespoke requirements
  • Communicating directly with clients to determine requirements
  • Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical assembly of a variety of products and equipment
  • Opportunities to train in different areas of Engineering
  • Working to procedures and instructions
  • Testing and fault-finding
  • Working on the factory floor
  • Communicating with different departments to resolve technical issues
