My client designs and manufactures bespoke equipment. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Northwest London on a permanent basis.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar Design / Mechanical Engineering position
  • Strong 3D CAD skills - ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo or similar
  • Experience designing precision equipment, machinery, complex mechanical components or electronic products
  • Degree qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of a variety of materials – sheet metal, injection moulded plastics etc.
  • Experienced designing products from concept to production
  • Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proficient using MS Office
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
  • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

  • Being responsible for the Design and Development of various electromechanical products
  • Using Inventor 3D CAD software for design on a day-to-day basis
  • Developing ideas from concept to production
  • Creating models/prototypes
  • Liaising with clients and developing solutions for design specifications
  • Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
  • Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
  • Providing technical guidance and support
  • Supporting product Testing, Verification & Validation
  • Supporting more junior members of the team
