Mechanical Design Engineer
My client specialises in Automation in the Manufacturing sector. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in the Worcester area on a permanent basis.
SALARY: £35,000 – £45,000, dependent on experience. TYPE: Permanent. LOCATION: Worcester.
Attributes
- HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Design or similar
- At least 3 years\’ experience working as a Mechanical Design Engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with using 3D CAD – SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or similar
- Knowledge of automated systems, conveyors, SPM etc.
- Able to manage projects and work to deadlines and budgets
- Experienced working to customer specifications and altering designs based on requirements
- Able to maintain technical documentation and BOM entry
- Knowledge of different materials such as sheet metal fabrication
- Innovative, accurate and passionate about design
- Be technically minded with a head for problem solving
- Excellent leadership and organisational skills
- Able to work well individually as well as part of a team
Role Responsibilities
- Being responsible for the Design and Development of various automation solutions
- Using Inventor 3D CAD software for design on a day-to-day basis
- Developing ideas from concept to production
- Liaising with clients and developing solutions for design specifications
- Collaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
- Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
- Providing technical guidance and support
- Supporting product Testing, Verification & Validation
