JOB – Manufacturing Sales Manager

LOCATION – Purley, South London

TERM – Permanent

SALARY – £40,000 – £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are looking for a Sales Manager on a permanent basis in the South London area with experience in the Manufacturing or Engineering Industry. Your main duties will include translating a customer’s needs and wants into a product/service and helping drive product performance across the UK and abroad.

The Sales Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

1. Experience working as a Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, or similar Head of Sales role.
2. Experience in Sales, proposals, or project management.
3. Previous experience building relationships with clients/customers in a manufacturing or engineering business.
4. Strong knowledge of various mechanical and electro-mechanical products and manufacturing processes.
5. Experience working within a regulated industry such as Automotive, Aerospace, Defence, Medical devices, or Nuclear would be beneficial.
6. Excellent organizational and planning skills.
7. Ability to communicate with other members of staff and management.
8. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
9. Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
10. Experience in Mechanical Manufacturing – beneficial.

The Sales Manager role will involve:

1. Engaging with customers and clients to understand their needs and requirements.
2. Translating a client’s needs/requirements into a product and service.
3. Driving sales and business strategies to improve existing accounts and bring in new ones.
4. Managing the process from initial enquiry through to proposal and order acceptance.
5. Liaising with engineering departments to manage clients’ expectations of our capabilities.
6. Travel overseas may be required as and when the role demands.
