Salary: £35,000-£50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Overview: My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector and is looking to take on a CNC Machinist on a permanent basis in the Stoke area.

Attributes:

  • Time served Engineer (NVQ/Apprenticeship/City & Guilds qualification ideally)
  • Ideally 2 years' experience or more in a similar engineering manufacturing/machine shop environment
  • Experience of working with CNC, milling, turning or manual grinding
  • Experience of working with Fusion360 programming or 5-axis machining would be desirable
  • Be able to work with MS Office
  • Good communication skills
  • Have the ability to read/interpret engineering drawings
  • Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a team

Responsibilities:

  • Being responsible for the machining of one-off engineering components
  • Working to the right standards and specifications
  • Interpreting engineering drawings
  • Writing CNC machining programs (turning/milling/grinding)
  • Helping to train apprentices or less experienced team members
  • Assisting with other general manufacturing activities
  • Helping to drive the company's Continuous Improvement program
  • Maintaining high standards

  • Must have a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship Level 3 to C7G or NVQ Level 3
  • CNC or manual grinding experience (must be universal or similar if manual) or CNC milling/turning with some grinding experience
