Overview: My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector and is looking to take on a CNC Machinist on a permanent basis in the Stoke area.
Attributes:
- Time served Engineer (NVQ/Apprenticeship/City & Guilds qualification ideally)
- Ideally 2 years' experience or more in a similar engineering manufacturing/machine shop environment
- Experience of working with CNC, milling, turning or manual grinding
- Experience of working with Fusion360 programming or 5-axis machining would be desirable
- Be able to work with MS Office
- Good communication skills
- Have the ability to read/interpret engineering drawings
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
Responsibilities:
- Being responsible for the machining of one-off engineering components
- Working to the right standards and specifications
- Interpreting engineering drawings
- Writing CNC machining programs (turning/milling/grinding)
- Helping to train apprentices or less experienced team members
- Assisting with other general manufacturing activities
- Helping to drive the company's Continuous Improvement program
- Maintaining high standards
