My client is a specialist metal product designer and manufacturer. They are looking for a Draughtsman to join their team in Luton on a permanent basis.
The Draughtsman will ideally have the following attributes:
- HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree qualified in Design, Engineering or similar
- 2-5 years’ or more of experience in a similar Design / Draughtsman position
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, fabrication and welded parts
- Be proficient using 2D & 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks & Tekla
- Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficient using MS Office
- Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
- Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
The Draughtsman role will involve:
- Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawings & sketches
- Producing fabrication drawings to bespoke requirements
- Communicating directly with clients to determine requirements
- Liaising with manufacturing providers
- Being involved in final assembly of products
- Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
- Updating 3D models and drawings
- Checking drawings for sign off
- Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
