ROLE– Mechanical Design Engineer

LOCATION – Telford

TERM– Permanent

SALARY– 35,000– 50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

My client designs and manufactures specialist machinery and precision parts. They are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Telford on a permanent basis.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

At least 3 years of experience in a similar CAD Design / Mechanical Development positionDegree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similarKnowledge of machinery, robotics, rotating equipment and precision componentsPrevious experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environmentBe proficient using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor etc.Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerancesHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi–disciplinary teamExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenProficient using MS OfficeExcellent organisational skills and time management skills

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawingsReverse Engineering, developing products, testing and prototypingLiaising with manufacturing providersBeing involved in final assembly of productsCreating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plansUpdating 3D models and drawingsInputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMsChecking drawings for sign off
