My client is a specialist manufacturer within the Instrumentation sector. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineering Manager to join their team in Liverpool on a permanent basis.
The Mechanical Design Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
- BSc / BEng in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 5 or more years’ of industry experience working in similar Mechanical Engineering Manager/Management role
- Proven ability to take products from conceptual design to being sold commercially
- Experienced setting up and implementing new ERP systems
- Experienced managing teams
- Ideally be experienced leading development for components from concept to production
- Proficiency with CAD software – ideally SolidWorks or similar
- Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, process equipment, hydraulics or similar industry experience would also be beneficial
- Ability to drive Engineering development
- Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, castings, machining, fabrication etc.
- Good knowledge of process equipment and ancillary equipment
- The ability to understand system requirements
- Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
The Mechanical Design Engineering Manager role will involve:
- Managing a team working on the company’s product range
- Being involved with Engineering/Design as well as overseeing New Product Development and Introduction processes
- Taking things from concept to launch
- Helping to develop existing products on a technical level
- Liaising with customers as required keeping them up to date with project progress
- Producing technical drawings as needed
- Driving continuous improvement
- Offering technical support
- Sourcing and selecting components that are required
