Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Reading, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join their leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving safety culture, ensuring compliance, and shaping best practice across a busy production environment.
The Role
Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for leading all health and safety activities across the site, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and industry standards. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and promoting a positive health & safety culture across the manufacturing facility
- Ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and maintaining ISO standards where applicable
- Conducting risk assessments, audits, and accident investigations
- Developing and delivering health & safety training across all levels
- Reviewing and updating policies and procedures
- Acting as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors
- Providing regular performance reports to senior leadership
The Candidate
We are looking for:
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- NEBOSH General Certificate (Diploma desirable)
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation
- Experience conducting internal audits and leading investigations
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach
