The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate quotations and cost estimates for a range of manufacturing projects and products. You will work closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure commercially competitive and technically accurate submissions.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing detailed quotations and cost estimates from customer enquiries and technical drawings
- Reviewing specifications, materials, labour, and production requirements
- Liaising with internal departments including engineering, procurement, and production
- Managing tender submissions and ensuring deadlines are met
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and commercial risks
- Maintaining accurate estimating records and pricing data
- Supporting the sales team with technical and commercial information
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Estimator position within a manufacturing environment
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and estimating/ERP systems
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
