We are partnering with a leading manufacturing company in Bournemouth to find a skilled Quality Engineer who can drive product excellence and continuous improvement across the business. The Role
As the Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet internal and external quality standards. You will work closely with production, design, and supplier teams to identify, investigate, and resolve quality issues, while implementing robust quality processes that support the business's growth and compliance goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for product and process non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain and improve the company's ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System) compliance.
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality control processes, inspection plans, and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to minimise risk.
- Conduct audits (internal and supplier) and ensure compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Analyse quality metrics and trends, producing actionable reports to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex quality issues, optimise manufacturing processes, and enhance product reliability.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce defects.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant quality standards.
- Experience with FMEA, SPC, APQP, PPAP, and other quality tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a methodical approach to RCA.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams.
- Engineering or quality-related qualification preferred.
