My client provides electrical services to the power & energy sector, and they are looking to take on an Electrical Field Service Engineer, on a permanent basis.
The Electrical Field Service Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- NVQ / HND qualification in Electrical Engineering or a similar subject along with relevant hands-on Field Service Engineering experience in the industry
- A Degree or Masters would also be desirable
- 3 years or more previous industry experience working with electrical power systems and controls and exposure to working on Power Generation sites
- Someone who is keen to develop their skills and qualifications further with a company
- Knowledge of synchronous machines and relevant systems
- Have a good understanding of power conversion principles
- Be confident in your ability to write technical reports and any required documentation
- Flexible to travel across the UK and outside of the UK too
- Be able to use test equipment to measure equipment performance
- Be a strong team player
- Have strong organizational and planning skills
- Have excellent communication skills to work well with customers
- Full UK Driving Licence
The Electrical Field Service Engineer role will involve:
- Travel in the UK as well as overseas on a regular basis
- Working with suppliers or with customers onsite working with equipment and carrying out commissioning and maintenance activities
- Working with electrical test equipment
- Testing equipment to ensure they are compliant in line with the required standards
- Providing expertise in synchronous machine control
- Working alongside colleagues to deliver a range of projects
- Always looking to drive continuous improvement
- Analysing performance data whilst working with the equipment
- Offering technical support to customers over the phone when required
- Always showing an excellent level of electrical engineering competence
- Performing risk assessments
- Producing manuals to support the installation and operation of equipment
- Writing technical reports
- Providing mentoring and training to more junior colleagues when required
