LOCATION – Remote, involving travel to meet UK-based customers and occasionally visit the office in Berkshire.

SALARY - Β£40,000-Β£50,000 per annum

My client designs and manufactures products and systems within the Renewable Energy sector. They are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The company is based in Berkshire, but this role will be remote (requirement to be in the office around once a month), and will involve travel to meet UK-based customers as required.

The Business Development Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Experience working in Business Development for B2B sales, ideally selling to integrators
  • Able to find customers and win new business, whilst managing accounts and maintaining customers
  • A passion for sales and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage a small team
  • Interested in sustainability and passionate about working in the renewable energy sector
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to motivate others
  • Enthusiasm for the position
  • Brilliant communication skills and organisational skills
  • Be able to travel on occasion as required

The Business Development Manager role will involve:

  • Working in a team to manage sales and business development activities within the company
  • Selling products to other businesses and integrators
  • Identifying and targeting new potential customers and winning business
  • Liaising with clients and investors to create and build relationships, then managing accounts
  • Maintaining the existing customer base and managing accounts
  • Leading a small team and having 1 direct report
  • Travel across the UK to meet customers and attend trade shows, events and conferences as required
  • Researching and developing sales opportunities
  • Working in alignment with commercial, technical, research and marketing strategies
  • Achieving revenue growth targets
  • Day-to-day management and team engagement
  • Driving for progression and growth of the business
