My client works within engineering and they are looking to take on a Product Support Engineer with an Electronics bias, on a permanent basis, in the Birmingham area.
The Product Support Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- NVQ/ HNC/ HND/ BTEC/Degree qualified or similar in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Prior electronics sector experience is essential – be able to diagnose faults, work on component level and work with schematics
- Practical soldering skills and using hand tools
- Any software knowledge would be beneficial – KiCAD or similar PCB Design CAD
- Have excellent problem solving skills
- Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Be able to work well individually as well as a team
- Be proficient with using MS Office applications
The Product Support Engineer role will involve:
- Providing technical support to customers with regards to company products
- Being involved in product re-design when needed
- Helping with any technical issues that arise
- Offering production support across the range of products
- Schematic design using KiCAD
- Carrying out fault diagnosis
- Carrying out bespoke assembly of products when required too
- Offering support to other team members when required
