Location: Wigan

Contract type: Full-time, ongoing temporary contract (5 days per week) from September 2026

Salary: £92.56 - £110.00 per day (dependent on experience)

About the role: We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Wigan from September. This full-time role involves providing 1:1 support for a pupil and is expected to continue on a long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships and making a genuine difference to a child's educational journey.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil
  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning support
  • Adapt activities to meet the individual needs of the pupil
  • Encourage confidence, independence and engagement in learning
  • Promote positive behaviour using the school's behaviour policy
  • Build a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff and parents where appropriate
  • Prepare learning resources and support classroom activities as required

Requirements:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
  • Recent experience supporting children in a primary school setting
  • Experience working with pupils with additional needs is desirable
  • Patient, reliable and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
