Description
As a Wraparound Care Lead at Premier Education, you’ll take the lead in delivering safe, engaging, and high-quality wraparound care for children aged 4–11. You’ll create a welcoming and stimulating environment where children can thrive, while ensuring every session runs smoothly and reflects our commitment to child-centred care.
You’ll be responsible for upholding safeguarding standards, following club policies and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines, and supporting the well-being of every child. You’ll also oversee daily operations, liaise with schools and parents, and lead on activity planning and behaviour management, ensuring a positive and inclusive experience for all.
In this leadership role, you’ll supervise and support playworkers, volunteers, and new staff, helping to manage team deployment, deliver effective onboarding, and maintain a professional, collaborative culture. You’ll also contribute to Ofsted readiness and play a key role in staff development and setting improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the overall management of the setting including safeguarding of all children in your care
- Provide comprehensive care for the children including collecting them from school and delivering them safely to parents/carers
- Provide age-appropriate personal or intimate care where necessary, following Premier Education’s safeguarding and care policies.
- Review all safeguarding concerns logged by the team and take the appropriate action including escalating as appropriate.
- Provide refreshments, ensuring hygiene and health and safety standards are met.
- Administer first aid when necessary and ensure prompt reporting and logging of all first aid incidents on site and that records are stored in line with statutory requirements.
- Ensure that the setting is ready to open at the appropriate time by supporting the setup of play spaces, including moving furniture and play equipment.
- Lead the delivery of engaging, high-quality activities and care to ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment for children.
- Ensure that OFSTED framework/compliance certificates are displayed and play a lead role in inspections.
- Manage weekly activities, menus, and communications with parents and school.
- Conduct regular equipment stock takes to maintain standards and order ingredients for daily ‘healthy snacks’ for children.
- Manage effective communication with stakeholders, including parents, schools, and staff.
- Maintain accurate daily registers on site.
- Ensure the club’s policies and EYFS guidelines are being followed to maintain high standards of care.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- Experience in managing or supervising staff in a childcare or educational setting.
- Knowledge of EYFS guidelines and best practices.
- Knowledge of age appropriate and inclusive play activities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
- The ability to work in a way that promotes the safety and well-being of children and young people
- Paediatric First Aid, Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead training and Enhanced DBS certificates (or willingness to complete upon appointment)
Desirable
- Level 2/3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork or equivalent.
