Location: Knutsford area

Contract: Full Time | Long Term (ASAP Start)

Premier Education Ltd are currently working in partnership with a primary school in the Knutsford area who are seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil on a long-term basis. This is a highly rewarding role supporting a child with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including attachment difficulties and emotional dysregulation. The school is looking for a calm, patient, and resilient individual who can build a strong, trusting relationship and provide consistent support throughout the school day. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the pupil feel safe, regulated, and engaged in learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs
  • Support the child with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
  • Build a positive, consistent, and trusting relationship
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff
  • Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with SEMH needs, particularly attachment difficulties and dysregulation
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
  • Ability to build positive relationships with vulnerable pupils
  • Experience in a school or alternative provision setting (desirable)
  • Ability to provide two references covering the last two years of employment history
  • An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one

Pay £90 - £110 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
