Premier Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school near Knutsford seeking an experienced and resilient 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a KS2 pupil until the end of the academic year. This is a rewarding opportunity for a dedicated TA who can build a positive relationship with a child who has emotional and behavioural needs, helping them to engage successfully with school life and learning.

The Role:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil
  • Supporting a child with emotional and behavioural needs
  • Building a consistent, trusting, and positive relationship
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team
  • Supporting the pupil during lessons, break times, and lunchtime activities
  • Supervising and engaging with the pupil during breaks and lunch, meaning your lunch break will be taken at a different time from other staff members
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEMH, emotional, or behavioural needs
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to remain positive and consistent in challenging situations
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
