Year 2 Teacher - Summer Term Role
Location: Congleton
Contract: Full Time | Temporary (20th April - May Half Term, with potential to extend until Summer)
Premier Education Ltd are currently working in partnership with a primary school in Congleton who are seeking a Year 2 Teacher to join their team from 20th April. This is a full-time position initially running until May half term, with a strong possibility of continuing through to the end of the academic year for the right candidate.
The school is looking for a committed and enthusiastic teacher who can deliver engaging and structured lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum. As this is a Year 2 class, confidence in supporting pupils in the lead up to end of Key Stage 1 assessments is highly desirable. You will be joining a supportive team and will be expected to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents, ensuring consistency and continuity in the classroom.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
- Prepare pupils for end of Key Stage 1 assessments (SATs)
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress
- Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and parents/carers
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Ability to commit from 20th April through to at least May half term
- A proactive, reliable, and adaptable approach
- Ability to provide two references covering the last two years of employment history
- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
£140 - £170 per day (dependent on experience, pay scale, and responsibilities)
