SEN Teaching Assistant - KS2

Location: Ellesmere Port / Cheshire West Area

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full Time | Long Term

Premier Education Ltd are currently working in partnership with a friendly primary school in the Ellesmere Port area who are seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 2:1 support in KS2 from September 2026. The role involves supporting two pupils who are currently working at approximately a Year 1 academic level. The successful candidate will deliver tailored learning support, helping the pupils to develop confidence, independence, and key literacy and numeracy skills while adapting activities to meet their individual learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys building positive relationships and supporting pupils to achieve their personal best.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 2:1 support
  • Deliver tailored interventions in literacy and numeracy
  • Adapt classroom activities to meet individual learning needs
  • Encourage confidence, independence, and engagement
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider support staff
  • Monitor and support pupil progress throughout the school day

Requirements

  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs
  • Understanding of differentiated learning and intervention strategies
  • Patient, adaptable, and positive approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Two references covering the last two years
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

Pay

£92 - £100 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
