Head of School - Short-Term Leadership Opportunity Location: Buxton Area, High Peak Start Date: ASAP Contract: Temporary - Approximately 8-10 Weeks Hours: Full-Time, 5 Days per Week Pay: Competitive daily rate, dependent on experience, paid weekly via our in-house PAYE payroll Premier Education is working with a welcoming school near Buxton seeking an experienced Head of School to provide leadership and teaching support for approximately 8-10 weeks during the Autumn Term. This is a full-time position combining three days of Head of School responsibilities with two days of classroom teaching each week. We are looking for an experienced and confident education professional who can provide effective day-to-day leadership, support staff and pupils, and maintain high standards of teaching and learning throughout the placement. The Role: Working 3 days per week as Head of School Providing effective day-to-day leadership and management of the school Supporting and guiding teaching and support staff Maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and pupil behaviour Supporting the school's safeguarding responsibilities and ensuring procedures are followed Working closely with staff, governors and other stakeholders Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the school Teaching for 2 days per week Planning and delivering engaging lessons appropriate to the class Monitoring pupil progress and maintaining a positive learning environment Candidate Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential Previous UK school leadership experience is essential Experience as a Headteacher, Head of School, Deputy Headteacher or experienced Assistant Headteacher would be highly desirable Strong classroom teaching experience Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills A strong understanding of safeguarding and school policies Ability to lead and support staff confidently Flexible, approachable and able to quickly become part of an established school team Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Able to commit to the full 8-10 week placement What's on Offer: Short-term senior leadership opportunity near Buxton Full-time, 5 days per week Approximately 8-10 weeks during the Autumn Term Combination of 3 leadership days and 2 teaching days per week Competitive daily rate reflecting the seniority of the position Weekly pay through our in-house PAYE payroll Support from a dedicated Premier Education consultant Premier Education is a trusted education recruitment agency, proudly supporting schools and educators across the North of England since 2001.
