Long-term supply pending recruitment as there is a vacancy.
Do you love working with children and creating a fun, welcoming environment where they can enjoy their time before and after school? We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Playworker to join a busy Out of School Club on a long-term supply basis in a wonderful Primary School. This is a lovely opportunity for someone who enjoys working with primary-aged children and is looking for a consistent role with every school day worked, but plenty of free time in between shifts!
The Role
Working with children aged 4-11, you will help make the breakfast and after-school club a safe, happy and engaging place to be. You'll:
- Plan and deliver fun, creative and age-appropriate play activities
- Encourage positive behaviour and support children's emotional wellbeing
- Help create an inclusive environment where every child feels welcome
- Ensure children are safe, happy and well cared for
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and school staff
- Work closely with the wider club and school team
- Use your initiative to keep sessions running smoothly
We would love to hear from you if you:
- Have previous experience working with children aged 4-11
- Understand that every child and family has different needs
- Are creative, enthusiastic and confident organising activities
- Have a warm and positive approach to behaviour
- Are a good communicator and team player
- Have plenty of common sense, initiative and sound judgement
- Can provide a safe, nurturing and welcoming environment for children
- Have a good standard of spoken and written English
First Aid, Food Hygiene and/or Safeguarding certificates would be advantageous, but are not essential.
This is expected to be a long-term supply position while the school recruits permanently, making it ideal for someone looking for regular, reliable work throughout the school term.
If you're an enthusiastic Playworker, Teaching Assistant, Nursery Practitioner or childcare professional who would enjoy making mornings and afternoons fun for children, we'd love to hear from you! Apply today for an immediate conversation about the role.
