Premier Education is working in partnership with a well-established alternative provision academy in the Derby area seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour & Learning Practitioner (BLP) to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them to re-engage with education and achieve their full potential within a nurturing and supportive environment.

The Role:

  • Supporting students aged 11-16 with behavioural, emotional, and learning needs
  • Working alongside teachers to support pupils both in and out of the classroom
  • Building positive relationships to encourage engagement, confidence, and resilience
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students to overcome barriers to learning
  • Delivering targeted interventions and providing pastoral support where required
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to support student progress

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school, alternative provision, or similar setting
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour positively and consistently
  • Passion for helping young people achieve their full potential
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
