Are you passionate about Jesus and eager to see Children’s and Young People’s lives changed through the gospel? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and energetic individual to join the team at Haven Church in Gorran Haven as a trainee Youth and Children’s worker through the training of SWYM (South West Youth Ministries) for 12 months beginning in September 2025. Haven Church is set in a small Cornish fishing village 11 miles from St Austell. The church is numerically small but has a faithful congregation and potential for growth in youth work. It is also part of the FIEC churches.

Role Overview

  • Help grow the existing Youth and Children’s work.
  • Assist in setting up new initiatives for young people aged 0-18 and their families.
  • Opportunity to share in preaching/teaching ministry.
  • Primary location at Haven Church, with potential work in local schools and in our church plant in Madeira.

Training & Support

  • Training will be provided by SWYM, including attendance at conferences and cluster groups.
  • The trainee will have a line manager for weekly meetings and a mentor for spiritual and personal support.
