The current work of the church includes:
- Sunday Morning service which includes children\’s work.
- Midweek prayer and Bible study
- Fellowship on WhatsApp, including a \’Morning Thought\’. This was born out of Covid restrictions
- Boys Brigade – Girls and Boys.
- Toddlers\’ Group
- Teenagers Group
- Monthly organised stroll into the local countryside
- Regular Prayer Walks into the local housing estate
- Outside organisations use the premises during the week – opportunities for outreach.
- The church currently lets out one of its halls to an independent nursery which operate every day of the week in term-time. The church has input into the nursery in the form of story-telling.
- Our vision is to reach out into the local community with the good news of Jesus\’ love so that people come to know Him. We long for believers to be nurtured, discipled and used in God\’s kingdom.
Person Skills and Character Qualities:
We seek a pastor to take responsibility for leading, teaching and equipping our Church family to use their God-given gifts in his service. We desire to work with a pastor who would take an active role in outreach alongside others.
Valley Church, Witham
Valley Church is located in the centre of Witham, a town on the A12 arterial route to East Anglia. There is a main line station to London Liverpool Street. The town is growing with new housing estates and with plans for more.
You should be able to show that:
- You are a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- You have an ability to preach and teach the Bible.
- You have a servant-leader style to work with the Leadership Team and integrate into the existing church family.
- You are able to engage with the local community and other churches in the town in a friendly and approachable manner.
- You can provide pastoral support.
- You can demonstrate the character types of 1 Timothy 3 and of Titus.
- You will accept the doctrinal principles of the UEC including the Agreement for Common Purposes.
