Headley Down Community Church (HDCC) is seeking to appoint a part‑time Lead Pastor, to lead the church through its next phase of development. HDCC is the only church in Headley Down and serves a population of about 5,000 living in Headley Down itself as well as drawing church attendees from the surrounding towns and villages.

The Lead Pastor we are seeking to appoint will work three days per week (24 hours per week), spread over the week (including some evening work), with key activities including the Sunday morning service. The Lead Pastor is expected to manage their hours, to ensure at least one full day off per week; days of work may vary from week‑to‑week although this will require flexibility to coordinate and provide support for urgent pastoral needs.

The Lead Pastor role is accountable to the Chair of the Trustees, working with the Pastoral Leadership Team (PLT), with the following being the main areas:

  • Services – leading HDCC services, alongside the PLT, developing the planned ministry within the church.
  • Pastoral – leading the PLT and undertaking proactive and reactive pastoral care.
  • Newcomers and integration – working with the team to ensure integration of newcomers into the church.
  • Prayer – building on and developing the culture of prayer within the church.
