Join Our Team as a CAP Debt Centre Manager! Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Kendal and District Debt Centre, in partnership with Christians Against Poverty (CAP) and local churches, is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Debt Centre Manager.
As a Debt Centre Manager, you will play a vital role in transforming lives by providing support and solutions to families struggling with debt.
- Supporting Individuals, Couples & Families: Offering compassionate and practical assistance to people facing financial difficulties.
- Community Engagement: Building strong relationships within the community and raising awareness about the debt management services we offer.
- Recruiting Volunteers: Inspiring and leading a team of volunteers to help deliver our services.
- Sharing the Christian faith: Explaining how your faith inspires and motivates you at work, and providing information, support, and signposting, where clients are interested in finding out more.
What We Offer

- Training and Support: We, and CAP, whom we partner with, provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to prepare you for your role, and to help you succeed. Note: Prior experience/training in financial matters is not required as all debt advice is provided directly by CAP.
- Competitive Salary: The full-time equivalent range for the role is £28,572 to £31,000 annually, depending on experience, pro-rated for 16 hours per week. We also offer a generous employer pension contribution and reimburse expenses.
- Flexible Working Arrangements: We’re supportive of working patterns that help serve both clients and you.

Interviews will be held on 9th March 2026. You’ll need to be free for an Orientation Day on 13th May 2026 and then for CAP training between 1st June and 3rd July 2026.
For this role, there is a General Occupational Requirement under the UK Equality Act 2010 for the postholder to be a practising Christian.
